Somewhere between alternative rock, post-grunge and alternative metal, OX pursue their vision of powerful, hand-made rock music with memorable songs and modern sounds. Hard-hitting riffs and melodic choruses, wrapped in catchy yet musically interesting songs, are the trademark with which the band has built its own identity.

OX was founded in 2015 in Karlsruhe by singer and guitarist Simon Ochs. Drummer Max Siegmund, bassist Niklas Reinfandt and guitarist Nadir Zee have completed the band's steady line-up ever since. Just a year later came the debut album "Rewind to Overwrite" — mixed at Tidal Wave Studios and mastered by Grammy-nominated audio engineer Robin Schmidt (whose credits include The Black Keys and Beatsteaks).
Club gigs across southern Germany followed, along with an appearance at the Mixery Camp at Melt! Festival and a multi-week tour through Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia — while the second album "Breaking Point" (2019) took shape in parallel. The band used the pandemic-enforced break to head in a new direction: harder, more modern, somewhere between alternative metal and post-grunge. Work with Sawdust Recordings in Halle/Saale produced the singles "Blame the Fallen" and "Another One to Care" — and, in response to the positive reception, the EP "State of Change".
Audibly matured as musicians, the Karlsruhe band is nowhere near the end of their journey. OX are currently bringing their new songs to the stage — including as openers for Kissin' Dynamite and Doro at the Seebühne rockt! Festival 2024 — while already working on the next album in parallel.
